Yay first post! So, I've had this idea for quite a while...a memo board that is half french memo board, half whiteboard/ dry erase. I wanted something I could write messages on but also stick envelopes and papers in; I didn't want a corkboard (I'm paranoid that it would've resulted in thumbtacks all over my floor; ouch) and I didn't want to use chalkboard paint (I. Hate. Chalk). What to do, what to do...OH, and I didn't want to have one of those plain, boring white boards.
Here's what I ended up with:

Everything is used with one foam core board.
For the dry erase part: I did some research on common materials that could be a cheap alternative to dry erase baords (ziploc bags, sheet protectors, etc...), did some experiments, and found that that clear stuff* you use to cover furniture works best with dry-erase markers. It'll stay on for a while and it erases off pretty easily, you only have to apply a bit of pressure completely and very easily with a small cloth and hand sanitizer (any old cheap kind).
*this stuff:

Here's a closer look at the french memo part, with random stuff on it:

And a crappy blurry pic of part of the dry erase board:

(ew sloppy handwriting)

Tell me what you think  Wink constructive criticism is appreciated!
