I got the pattern out of Jan Eaton's 200 ripple stitch patterns.  I believe it was called soft waves.   I used knitpicks swish worsted yarn (100% superwash merino wool) in a variety of colors that are not all available anymore....that should give you an idea of how long i've been working on this.  This was sort of the project I worked on when I didn't feel like working on anything else.  As far as size goes, you can get an idea from the width based off my couch.  The length is long enough to cover the average person's toes and still come up to their neck when they are cuddled on the couch.  :-)

Picture time!

It makes me want to plop down on your couch, cuddle up in that blankie, and snuggle down with a hot cup of coffee with French Vanilla creamer and a House marathon.

I love this!  It came out so well!
I've seen a ton of these on Flickr and have always wanted to make one.  I looked everywhere online for a comparable free pattern, but a lot of them are pointy ripples, and i like the look of the soft waves better.  I stumbled across Google Books and it happens to have part of the 200 Ripple Stitches book by Jan Eaton on there, including the part with the pattern for the Soft Waves!!
I was super excited when I found it and started making one last weekend.  I hope it turns out as beautiful as yours did!

And here's the link to the pattern on Google Book Search for those who are interested;

Very pretty!  The soft waves are a nice change from your everyday pointy ripples, and that along with the colors give it a very relaxing mood to me.
