so I made some needle felted balls earlier (here: http://www.craftster.org/forum/index.php?topic=288178.0), and then I had the idea to stick some lavender in them.  this is what I came up with!  Its pretty, and it smells good!  So do my hands atm!

this ones just small, but I'm going to keep making these as gifts using different herbs.  and in different sizes.  find herbs that match, maybe dried flower petals...... oooh the possibilities are endless!

How much of the herbs or petals did you put in for the smell to travel through the wool?

this one is about the size of a golf ball.  I didn't measure the amount, though I'd say its about a teaspoon or so.  I think the smell was stronger last night because I was jabbing the flowers repeatedly.  Today the scent is harder to distinguish, but upon rolling it in my hands,  the smell became stronger.  I will probably put a bit more lavender in the next go.  I was thinking these would be good for babies, in thier crib (I'd make it a bit bigger though) Something to ease them to sleep eh?

As long as you don't live in North Western Saskatchewan, go hard!!  It's my plan too!  Everything I do needs to be made into a buisness... Stay at home mom you know?  Gotta make my cash some how!

lol Nah. I live in Southern California, US. I'll be taking one class next month and cutting back on some hours at work. I'm going to need something to support my crafting habit!

Oh and thank you!

It's a no go Sad I made a prototype and the cats were chewing and pulling at it. My mom's dog then stole it and ran back to the backyard. She showed me the ball and it's torn. They don't seem to be eating the wool. (and they are being supervised while they play) but it's not something that is safe. Eating wool would really harm an animal. I have lots of craft felt laying around that I can sew the remainder catnip into
