more frills and letter p's! when will the madness end?

so i've been promising my sister a tartan frilled shirt for at least a year, like the one worn by some guy from the j-rock band ayabie. and today i finished it after about 16 hours.
it looks like a mashup of austin powers and vivienne westwood, strangely enough, but it's soft and warm, probably flannel, and seriously frilly.

and now i want to make myself a copy of it but minidress length, though i can't bring myself to go through hell sewing plaid (gave up matching the lines after 5 minutes) and ruffles (there are 6 huge ones on this baby) and more buttons (there are like 16 on this, handsewn) for at least another year.
the pattern is a basic burda shirt-dress (most useful pattern on planet earth), shortened and frilled to within an inch of its life.

somehow the frills make your torso look narrower... and your stomach look bigger.
but such is life.

thanks for looking! Smiley

heh, i ended up not matching them all up, but then most plaid things in clothes shops don't have the plaid matching up anyway. Cheesy
