I just found out about crafster a few days ago, but I should have known about it for years!

Although my biggest time spender happens to be in model trains, for years I have been involved in sewing projects, and some really wierd ones at that. But from the looks of it, from the forums I perused, I'm not the only one. I found lots of people who do the same things! Yay!

I started out learning to sew (on my own, by the way (I hate abbreviations)) with doing the leather and vinyl upholstery on my vintage British sports cars (E-Type Jag, TR-3, MG-A) since I couldn't afford to have them done professionally. That led to someone asking me if I could make leather and vinyl clothes for them (a dance troupe) and my friend's daughter who wanted me to make some boots for her. (I did, from dashboard vinyl left over from my Jaguar.)

Well, being an engineer, I was intrigued by making things, and I never stopped. A good engineer never stops; we just keep trying to improve. I'm not an engineer anymore; I gave it up to become a teacher, so in my spare time I used my sewing skills to create costumes. So, I thought this would be a good place to share my skills on the unique things I have created over the past years.

Anybody who wants to know about sewing with leather or vinyl, just about any project you can think of, drop a PM. I'm writing a tutorial about making your own fashion and costume boots at home, and I'll probably do others, as time permits.

Get aut! (That's how you say 'that's incredible' in PA Dutchy)
