Here are a whole pack of half marbles from Walmart made into magnets and tack pins for a cork board.  I glued magnet canvas piece to the back and ther ya go a magnet.  Then for the tack pins... I glued a flat back tack pin to the back and let it dry over night and there ya go.. very cool tack pins for any cork board.  I made these all in the past week 374 worth, while watching tv at night.  Who said you couldnt be productive while sitting on the couch??!!

annewithanegirl, I use a hole punch to do mine.  I'm not patient enough to measure and cut!  In the scrapbook sections of craft stores they have circle punches of all different sizes -- 1/2" works with the typical marble size, or you can get larger ones for larger marbles.

You really don't have to measure anything!  I just glue the marble directly onto the image I want and, using nail scissors, cut right around it with ease.

I have been making those magnets for years but i never thought about tacks. Great idea. You can also add eyelets from the jewlery store and make necklaces. There is a local store in Brooklyn that sells my flat marble necklaces...cool. I am new to this message board but if you want to see pictures i will figure it out.

Happy New Year!
