I'm involved in a button swap which I'm due to post by Valentines, so I've been experimenting! 28mm robot buttons - I've used 1 strand for the inside robot detail and 3 strands to give definition around the profile. For the cross stitch hearts I  used a 28 count fabric to fit a 19mm button.

Larger images and another free pattern on my blog, if anyone fancies making some robot buttons  Wink

Heart button - I cut out a small red felt heart which I then stitched across to make it look raised. I'm going to play around with this idea more for the swap.  Smiley

Thanks for looking  Smiley

These buttons are just adorable, and I'm not a huge fan of buttons. But, you have given me a fantastic idea for a birthday gift for a friend of mine...

Thanks  Wink

skaborsk - I've got a button machine, but you can get some of the prym/dritz cover buttons which work just as well with a little tool.   Wink

Do you mean a button machine like a badge-a-minit button machine? Are they pin-back buttons, or sew on buttons?
