Absolutely fantastic!  What a great vision you had with this project.  And the patience of a saint!  My fingers hurt just looking at it...

Wow, that thing is gorgeous! I've made bracelets with 30-40 buttons on them and I thought I went crazy doing just that, I can imagine how much hard work went into a whole bag.

Sooo I'm just going to ignore what you said and try a something like your bag because it's just so damn pretty. Maybe I'll wait until I am bedridden or something though, hehe

I really would love to see someone else's take on it!

4 months sounds like a scary length of time, but to be fair, I think I could have knocked it out in a month, if I hadn't had a few long breaks from doing it, and if I hadn't been quite so anal to start with. When I first began, I was being really, really careful that there weren't any visible gaps between the buttons, which resulted in them being super layered and having to use lots of fiddly little ones. I started to relax a little towards the end and managed to get the second half done a lot quicker. I think I would have stuck to bigger buttons also if I could, though that would have made the end product differ significantly I guess.

I'm not happy, I'm cheerful. There's a difference.

OK, my mouth literally dropped open and I started to make nonsensical noises when I saw this bag.  This is just about the neatest thing ever.

This is just too, too pretty to be practical. I'd be afraid to actually USE it for anything!

Shocked Wow, very nice. Did you sew and knot off each seperate button? I can only emagine the horror if one got snagged somewhere and button after button slowly falling off otherwise  Cry

Nope, I did them in lengths of about 10 - 15 buttons at a time. I painted glue on the back which will hopefully prevent any unravelling plus I glued down the cotton on the top of most of the buttons as well with a clear bead/fabric craft glue Smiley
