I made these guys a while ago, back in the summer, and am just getting around to posting about them now, hehe.
Anyway, meet my first puppets: Screamo, and Slap Pappy.

This is Screamo. He's... Afraid of everything. He's even afraid of Edward, silly Screamo.  He wears his sign, stating, 'It's the end of the world (as we know it), and 'the end is near!' to warn people of the incoming dangers.

See?

The one on the left, is Slap Pappy. He was my first attempt at stuffing puppet arms, and... When he runs, they fly out to his sides. Hence his name.
They arn't perfect, and I learned alot from making them; like, I need to be much more careful when cutting and gluing so things don't fray/come out uneven  Roll Eyes However, my cousins have a blast playing with them when they visit, so I guess they're good enough for them!
Thanks for looking Smiley

Those are really cool. You should check out www.projectpuppet.com. (If you never have.) I don't usually promo websites......but I made my first puppet (that wasn't socks or meat pie dishes) recently using one of their patterns. Even if you don't want to buy a pattern it's cool for ideas and they have some free tutorials too.

I just think these two guys are super adorable. Puppets are hard (I think anyway) but I love these.

Thank you for the comments! Yes, I am making more; they just take a little longer with me whereas a) I hand sew and b) school and compititions  have gotten a little crazy around this time, tee hee.
And thanks for the website; you're right, it it awesome for ideas! I'll definitely be looking through those later. Especially the clothing tutorial! Smiley

Since spicytaco did it first, when I first started making puppets, I found "The Foam Book : An Easy Guide to Building Polyfoam Puppets by Donald Devet and Drew Allison" the best resource I could have hoped for. Instead of patterns, they explain each part of a puppet in such easy terms that you can make your own without fear of failure. It's an awesome book and I can't recommend it highly enough. I still refer to it occasionally after years of puppet making.

I found it on Amazon.

Remember to post more puppets when you make em!
