Thanks tons! Cheers! Whereas my other pieces were just trying to re-create the graffiti piece, I was able to "go balls out" on this one, using each stitch to convey the spirit of Swoon instead of just covering the vinyl. It felt pretty liberating and something that came organically from working on a piece from an artist that's soulful like she is. I would've never thought to venture into that world had it not been for my extremely smart swap partner, kcrobin. At first I was like, "Oh, man, what are you getting me into?! All her pieces are bananas(thanks to Gwen Stefani, I'll never misspell that word again)!" But working on it was inspiring and kept me out of trouble on many weekend nights. Kinda. Wink

Thank you so much! I printed the picture out and blew it up at Kinkos. I used a lightbox and transferred it onto freezer paper. Then I cut around the outline and cut out the negative spaces using an exacto. Then I used an iron and pressed the paper, plastic side down, onto the vinyl, just like I was stenciling a tee shirt. I traced around it using a ball-point pen and then peeled the paper off.  I'm sure there are easier ways to do it, but this worked best for this piece.
Thanks again for the kudos and the question.

Wowza!! You have infinitely more patience than I. I get frustrated doing basic freezer paper stencil.

This is AMAZING! I love the look of the white stitching on the red vinyl. I hope your swap partner loved it.
