Due to some requests I have now tried to shoot the dress in more ways so that it would show at least a bit more how it's constructed. (New pictures and explaination added under the original pictures)

It started out as an attemp to simply alter the t-shirt a bit, make it less huge and a tiny bit longer, more like a tunic.
However it ended up as a dress, how that happen I have nooo idea, sewing with a fever is dangerous though interesting I must say... I really say I remember much of what I was thinking or what I did.
But what the heck- I like it and it's dead comfy! Def. gonna be my number 1 summerdress since it's very airy and sooo comfortable.

(I'm not really happy about the ribbon going along the upper seam since I totally miscalculated the contrast between the stiff ribbon and the stretchy fabrics underneath. Also the print ended up a bit misplaced since part of it tend to bend in under the bust as it is now... but that's minor details, it's still very comfortable =))

aaaand of course a necessary before-pic of the gigantic t-shirt ^^

Update:

I made a quick sketch hoping it'll make it more clear how the pieces are cut and fitted together. I worked completley in stright lines- squares and triangles basically.
1. First I cut the t-shirt right above then print and then I cut away some from the sides because it was still slightly too big even with the ribbons added to make it slimmer.
2. I then cut away the lower part, and saved it to be used later.
3. The other fabric I added was cut in to these pieces: one long piece for the 'sleeves' (my fabric was already tubeshaped in the perfect size ^^), 2 triangles for the sides as to make the dress wider, and two triangles to add to the length.
4. The pieces where then sewed together like this: (Hope this makes any sense to you). It looks the same both in back and front.

Then afterwards the stretchy-thingy was added at the top, and ribbons to the sides (by simply folding the fabric in two stright lines on each side, and adding little loops to that):

see if you can see the seams on these pictures and see how basic the design really is, very much exactly like my crappy sketch:

same in back and front- apart from the print obviously.

and et voil: (although I think it shrunk in the laundry, and it's all wrinkled and put on slightly askew)

awww =D
Thanks guys ^^ Now I feel all comfortable wearing it in public too, after such cute comments!

And neijie- it's not just a shirt... I didn't think it necessary to write out that I used some scrap pieces of an other fabric too >.< to me it's obvious cause that fabric is sort of striped (very humbly though) and also a different shade of white, but I suppse the picture doesn't really show that... Sorry ^^

I think it's lovely.  I like the way the ribbon appears to gather the dress a bit - it looks like it's supposed to be like that.  Gorgeous design.
