Sewing Machine!

« on: April 27, 2009 12:40:16 PM »

So, I'm now 7 months pregnant and we have finally moved into our new house! We've been here 3 weeks and finally have almost every wall painted to the colors of my liking! ( i have a weird thing with wall paint colors, if i didn't pick them i feel like i'm still living in someone elses house! weird, i know). Its 3 bedroom, master bedroom, baby room and sewing/guest room.

I've finally had time to work on my new sewing room, its painted and i've picked the color scheme... which is grey walls with black, white and red accents. We bought a futon off of craigslist for $100, i'll include the before pictures, but i painted it and bought futon cover to match the rest of the scheme of the room. I've finally worked on some of the sewing today and yesterday (because my hubby built/put together my new sewing table), ive made the curtains, and the pillows for the futon! I hated the thought of not having a guest bed room, but when we did have one it was used rarely, so instead of having a guest bedroom we thought the futon would be great to throw in the sewing room. I'll post more pics once all my new sewing furniture and decor is up!

Just thought i would share!

Here is the futon before:

Futon and pillow (its in a weird spot so i cant get a pic of the whole futon until i unpack my other camera lens):

2 pillows front and back!

Curtains ( its just one panel but im going to eventurally get some more of this fabric so there will be 2 panels):

i have to say when i read "grey walls" i thought that sounded horrible.
but i was wrong; it looks really classy.  i think i imagined a lighter grey and somehow the medium one is just right.

Your new futon cover definitely makes a statement.  It's bold and bright.  I also love the fabric you chose for the curtains and pillows.  Great job.
