Shrinky Dink Rings Pt.II [IMG heavy]

Night II. Starting to get the hang of shrinky-dink.

This piece has 5 hand drawn owls, all staring at eachother with bewilderment. My sister had that image of an owl kicking around, not too sure where it came from, but I do love it, so I modified it into ring form.






Okay, so as you can see, the question mark is backwards. Well me being the brainiac that I am, didn't quite piece together the puzzle, and realize that I had to draw the question marks in backwards. Next time!
Not entirely happy with this one.

those look really good--the owls are my favorite.

funnily enough; i made a custom denim vest for my friend's birthday last week, with a giant handpainted 16bit mario, and a row of big shrinky-dinks on the top. they were about 2" x 2", and there were two 1ups, a "?" block, a "!" block, and a star in the middle   i wish i had a picture to share...

he nearly shit his pants when he saw it, and i hear he hasn't taken it off since. mission accomplished.

before they hit etsy, i want to test a bunch of sealers to make sure they're going to last... so far they're doing great, i even washed the dishes/showered with one of them without sealer and it was uneffected.

I absolutely love the owls!  They are so cute! 

On a side note, sort of on topic...     Does anyone know what sort of aisle Shrinky Dinks are on?  I've looked all over Hobby Lobby and can't find a thing.

i have a hard time finding craft stores here that carry them.  i occasionally buy packages of it from artist supply stores, but if i'm wanting to use crystal clear stuff, i use those #6 grade recyclable plastic clamshell to-go containers (they're the exact same polystyrene, and they bake the exact same way).

I searched Michaels for 20 minutes before finally asking for help, and it turns out they were in the Scrapbooking section. The one place I didn't think to look in.

A. C. Moore puts them in the art supplies aisle and in the kids' crafts aisle.
