This is my first post although not my first project. Got these shoes for cheap at the salv. a few years ago and I never wore them because the colour was just a little too light. Feeling bored and crafty so what else to do but cover them in glitter and lace!  Cheesy

original shoes...

Glitter!

Action shot with lots of purple

I really like how they turned out, my photo taking friend says they look like a goth version of the ruby slippers.

The process:
-Painted them black with acrylic paint (3 coats)
-brushed ultra fine glitter onto wet paint during last coat, added more glitter with a damp paint brush on the thin spots
-attached lace to sides and strap with hot glue, painted and added glitter over hot glue once dried.
-sprayed it all with two coats of a clear acrylic sealer. It may not be waterproof enough for bad weather though so I think I'm going to track down some waterproofing spray and add that eventually.

I left one strap and the heel plain black just for a bit more contrast.

So that's that, feedback (positive or negative) is welcome.

Okay so once again I am completely redoing my pictures. Got tired of photobucket, the only reason I used it was for here so I decided I will just use Craftster's photo uploader. So while I am switching over my photo links will be broken. Message me if there is a post you would like the pics for.

What a great idea!
they look 100% better and I love the comparison of a gothic ruby slipper.
Now you just need a little "toto" with a black studded collar to take with you, hehe
