So I made this bag for my niece who's 2 1/2 for her Tag books (from LeapFrog) I'm pretty proud of how it came out...mostly because it's the first time I've done a zipper in a bag! So PLEASE let me know what you think about the bag.

This bag is completely my design...
The bag (a bit blurry...sorry)

the tag

The zipper top...

The lining... and the top of the pocket

The pocket for the tag pen

And one of my favorite parts.. the adjustable strap! (hey it's the small things)

Again, please let me know what you think... thanks for looking!  Cheesy Grin

That is so cute. I may borrow your idea and make one for my son. How much webbing did you use for the shoulder strap?

I got 1 yard... and that seemed to work out great!

It's just that nylon webbing type stuff...like what's on backpacks... it's 1 1/2 inches wide.

I pretty much made it so it looked like this...

Then when I put the bag together I put the unfinished parts so they were facing upward when I did my sewing... I make my bags inside out then flip them and sew around the top... I hate seems inside the bags  Grin   Then I crossed my fingers and hoped that it worked!! and it actually did... but basically I made the flap (outside and inside fabric) for the top and sewed it in

Hope that helps

Thanks   Grin Grin   .. I think that's like my new favorite thing -- thinking about doing that on another bag for my SIL only using fabric this time...
