I have lurked and learned so much from all of the posts and posters here for a long time.  I figured it was about time I started posting some of my own projects, both from existing tutorials and otherwise.  Here's the first, based on the tutorial here:
Sha Sha Dream Bag

lining

This bag is made from scraps of fabric leftover from cutting out a dress for DD's 7th birthday party this weekend, and lined with a fat quarter that I had in my stash.  The button is a little off center, but I think DD will still love it.  After all, it's pink!  C&C appreciated!

That's nice.  I love the shape and the fabric you used.

I love it!  It looks spacious and pretty.  I love both of the fabrics you used.  And I think the off-center closure works well with the large print.  It looks intentional and I wouldn't have asked if you hadn't mentioned it.

i love this!  i have several yards of that corduroy in my stash because i haven't found the right project for it.  i did consider making a largish bag/purse and i think you talked me right into it!

Thanks for all the lovely comments!  I wanted to make something using this fabric before sewing together a dress I am making for DD - to get a feel for the fabric, and how it behaves in the machine.  Nice and easy.  My mom always taught me to sample, sample, sample - but I hate doing samples that have no purpose, you know?
