I know it's nothing special, but I am absolutely in love with my new hat (I pretty much didn't take it off for 3 days after finishing it Grin).

It is the Bernat Snowboarder Hat (on their website, or available as a pamphlet).  I knit it with double stranded Paton's Wool (for the colour effect, and for warmth).  I added a bit of fuzzy white yarn to the crochet edge and the inside of the kitty ears.  (the kitty ears are 2 knit pieces that are attached with single crochet stitches).

Oh and I blocked it in true Canadian fashion... I wore it our in a snowstorm  Grin

Sorry for the bad pick, but I too excited to wait for better pics to post... (btw big thanks to my friend Paula for emailing me the picture).

Thanks striker923.  And I agree kitty hats are awesome... It's hard not to smile while wearing one.

Very cute!  And you obviously LOVE your new hat, which, in my opinion, is the most important thing about finished objects -- if someonedoesn't love them, finished objects should be frogged because it's only about the knitting in that case and I can ALWAYS use yarn for knitting!

Thanks everyone.

Credit for the photo has to go to my friend Paula (she took it right after I finished my hat, and emailed it to me  Grin)

It wasn't a hard project, so I'm sure you could do it.  Good luck learning how to knit.  It's a great pastime.
