After a couple of false starts (or "learning experiences") I finally turned out what I consider to be a most respectable corset  Grin

Silly chalk lines looked like they were gone until the camera flash went off  Roll Eyes

I was first encouraged by Roethke's tutorial and I also used the 'samleather' one on tripod. Getting the really close custom fit was done by trial and error, and I sort of winged it with the boning channels instead of using the seam allowances. I also manufactured how to get the zipper in there after the fact. Cheesy It's fair to see I'm quite please with myself right now lol.  Wink Yay for my bias tape maker - I made the top and bottom binding from black muslin, and used the same tool to make the channels out of the duck the whole thing is made of.

It is very beautiful and turned out great.

I didn't even know there was such a tool as a bias tape maker.  How cool!

Thanks guys!

The blue is just a fabric that Joann's sold a couple of years ago. I thought it was pretty and picked up two yards, and short of making a poncho there didn't really seem to be anything I wanted to do with it, until this week!

They do the folding and hold it down so you can run the iron over the strip.

The connotations wearing my nerves thin
Could it be semantics generating the mess we're in?
I understand that language breeds stereotype
But what's the explanation for the malice, for the spite?
