I've turnd on the wrong elements before and melted the container of some apple turnovers, needless to say, I couldn't eat them as they were coated in plastic.      Also I've melted cutting boards.  So no, your not alone.  Sometimes I just outright forget to turn off an element....  Take the pot to the table and serve my fam.  The Hubby has taken to doing a once over of the kitchen before supper, covertly of course, but I know he's doing it... Just to make sureI've shut everything off LOL

I too am going to have to send tomorrow =S due to not calculating how long something I am making really takes. But it'll all be worth it.  Also I figure since my bf missed the postman today and we have to go in to pick up parcels tomorrow anyways (Yep that means my parcel is here and I feel horrid for not sending mine early), it'll be the perfect opportunity to handle it all at once!!

haha, I open my package and a big cloud of popcorn smoke poofs out    I'd have to laugh if it did smell of smoke, and don't worry I could think of worse smells then regular old smoke
