So we just finished reading Lord of the Flies and we had to do a project. there were easy things like journal entries, but of course I pick the island! Its actually pretty epic. it took me like 3 days and i got none of my other hw done as a result.

Its actually not done yet but i couldn't wait!!

the epic plan w/ all my research

the island pre covered

The beach portion w/ and w/out sand

the island covered w/ some trees

The mountain

The scar (for those of you familiar w/ LotF

and the painted island

Lets hope for an A!!

I remember making and illustrating many of my English and Social Studies reports with projects. It always got me a good grade. Good luck.

nice work... i can appreciate a good school project when i see one... especially the group projects that you get voted to do all the work just because youre the "creative" one of the group.  yeah story of my life lol

but this reminds me, my junior year of high school, we read "the crucible" about the salem witch trials, and our group had to depict the scene where the girls are dancing around the fire.  we ended up making this huge diaroma using barbie dolls and real light bulb for the fire... it turned out pretty awesome!

but where's the part of the island where they peeeee?!!  That's pretty much all I remember from that book.  We did a mock-trial, as if all the boys came back and they were all charged for piggie's murder.  DUMB.  All I remember is that I got to wear a sweater vest.

Now I'm an English major and all I do is read theory. Enjoy the dioramas while they last.  Yours looks really cute.

Very nice so far! It might be neat if you poured some resin over the water area, to make it look like clear water with the blue underneath. I'm not sure how you'd get it to stay in just that area, though. You'd probably have to put up a temporary border with plastic salvaged from something...

Anyway, it looks very nice! I remember doing a project like this once for class. It was an air-boat that floated of its own accord. I made a boat from model wood, with big wings coming out the sides (paper in between, so they kind of looked like bat wings), and then a net attached, with a HUGE balloon in the net, filled with helium. The book I read was weird, okay?

Anyway, the next project I made didn't get nearly as good a grade.
