Les Oiseaux (The Birds) - mixed media

Here is a mixed media bit I made tonight.
8x10 stretched canvas is painted with acrylic paints.  Cutout is from a book of 19th century French poetry (antiqued and burned).  Natural bird feathers added for accent.  The whole thing is finished with a satin gloss.




I am brand new to the world of mixed media, so I would love some opinions.

I can't believe you're brand new! This looks Awesome! I would so hang this on any of my walls. The textures that you achieved are great. I hope you stick with mixed media so we can see more!!

I really enjoyed making this piece, and definitely plan to continue working in mixed media.  I like the freedom it provides, with no rules or expectations.
