"a very big fish"

i made this fishie for a sculpture class a few semesters ago. the assignment was to take a found object (i used a purse) and extend that object into something else using only planer material (flat paper, cardboard, mat board, etc). aside from the mouth, everything is cardboard and paper grocery bag hot glued together. i hope you like it!

i'm not sure if this is where this post belongs, but it's made of cardboard..so that's paper, right?

Wonderful--I never would have "seen" that in the purse.

Your fish is awesome! You can clearly see how much work was put into it! How long did it take you to put it together? Great idea for the purse as the mouth!

That is magnificent!  Glorious textures and great use of simple materials.  I don't often use the 'this rocks' button, but.... this rocks!

I have to agree, this rocks, and I would be mightily tempted (if it would hold up) to use this as my actual purse, at least for a day, just for kicks! lol  I'm a texture person too, and I really noticed that, plus the natural colors are so appealing.  I hope it will be a sculpture on your mantle or hanging from the ceiling for many years to come!
