Lotion bars are just solid versions of stuff in a tub. I had cocoa butter, beeswax and almon oil in the ones I have done, maybe too much beeswax tho  Embarrassed

The lip balms are quite good, minty choco tingly!!!

If you search the beauty section on here you will find loads of recipes for both.

They're pretty neat katcal!  The ones I got came shaped just like regular votive candles.  One was sort of broken, so I broke out the wick and put the chunks into my tart burner.  You burn it like a normal candle, only it doesn't burn very hot.  Then when it's all melty, you just dip some out and use it like regular lotion!  Sounds totally bizarre, but it's actually really neat lol  Very good lotion, and the ones I got are peppermint bark scented, so it's not only nice and moisturizing, it smells like candy!  lol  Got them on ebay.  Here's a link to a similar auction from the same seller http://cgi.ebay.com/Lotion-Candle-4-oz-burn-as-candle-then-apply-to-skin_W0QQitemZ220337792577QQihZ012QQcategoryZ46782QQcmdZViewItemQQ_trksidZp1742.m153.l1262.

I wondered the same thing Ronda, and I thought they'd be super waxy and yuck as lotion, but they aren't lol  They're really nice actually.

if they are made of soy then maybe that is why they aren't all waxy, but she must add something to make them lotiony when they melt...

does anyone know if the scents for candles are the same scents for soaps and such things? that would at least eliminate that question

and then maybe she adds lanolin or something to make them softer than a candle or maybe some other additive

I wonder if she stumbled on the idea accidently or if there is a recipe out there somewhere... headed for google!

Some scents can be used for both bath products and candles.  Some factors when considering what a scent can be used for are flash point, if they are irritants, if they work in cold process soap, and polarity.

I would suggest purchasing all scents from a reputable company that has done this testing.

Here is some more information.
