The Pittsburgh Craft Collective

Beginning Knitting
Teacher: Cosette Cornelius-Bates
Location: Squirrel Hill (Address given at registration)
Dates: January 21st
Time: 7:00 - 9:00pm
Cost: $15 for members; $20 for non-members

For those interested in just starting to pick up the needles or who have picked up the needles before, but are still a bit shaky. The class will cover how to get the yarn on the needles, the knit and purl stitch, and binding off. If you're a bit beyond that, we can cover how to recognize stitches and fix your mistakes. Class is limited to 4 people.

Materials needed:
Smooth yarn of any sort, although I recommend wool. There are several very affordable wools that are $6-8 for a skein.
Knitting needles in recommended size for yarn.

Beginning Spinning Class
Teacher: Cosette Cornelius-Bates
Location: Squirrel Hill (Address given at registration)
Dates: January 18th
Time: 2:00 - 4:oopm
Cost: $15 for members or $35 with supplies; $20 for non-members or $40 with supplies

Already addicted to yarn? Want to learn to make your own? In this beginning spinning class, you will learn the park and draft method of spinning on a drop spindle. This ancient method of spinning is fun, portable and will give you some fun yarn to boot! Class size is limited to 4 people.

Available supplies:
2 oz of my hand dyed roving
Louet drop spindle, retails for $20
