I put together this gift "basket" for a friend's baby shower.  This doll-sized suitcase is filled to the brim and overflowing with lovely little lavender outfits.

I hosted this friend's bridal shower several years earlier and the theme of that shower was "world travel."  I thought it would be a cute sort of inside joke to make the baby gift a play on that same theme, so I designed it to look like baby was getting all ready to go travel the world.

Also, Mom's favorite color is purple, and since she had already received tons of pink outfits for her little girl, she was excited to see that all of the outfits were lavender.  Lavender is such a cute and easy alternative to pinks and yellows that moms typically receive.

Mom now uses the mini suitcase to store keepsakes.  When baby gets older, she can use it for her dolls or her own secret treasures!

What a really sweet idea! I love all the lavender outfits. Purple is my favorite color too, pink is just too over done.

Very cute, I love when people use containers that "grow" with the child. I still have the decorative box that I received with an outfit in it for my 10 yr olds shower. It too holds her keepsakes now.
Also as a mother of 5 little girls I thank you for going with lavender! We do receive sooooo much pink over the years!
