I found some free square patterns on the web that were pretty neato and would work for a project like this:
Circle Friends granny Square
Peace Granny Square
tough I think you could use any free square pattern and make a bag simillar.

Where can I get that owl fabric?  It's fabulous!  I NEED to make a skirt out of that.  At least a skirt.  Probably much, much more.
