what a neat idea and thanks so much for the definition of SCA. I've been trying to figure it out for weeks.  I'm going to pass this on to my brother as he loves to try to make Armour and such out of inexpensive materials. He doesn't do SCA but we go to ren. faire every year and he likes to have something that looks close to authentic but isn't. Thrifty I guess. lol

Very cool. And your hair is teh win. Smiley

The SCA is a vast collective of things such as music, sewing, and wool working. The fighting portion just so happens to be what I am into. My fiancee does wool spinning etc, and light fighting (rapier).

AH! How neat! I spin my own yarn too. I wonder if there's something close to me. I'll have to look into it. Smiley

The riveting work looks great.  You did a great job fitting it to yourself.  Can't wait to see your finished kit!  What kingdom are you with?
Ah! Thank you! I actually had a leather cuirass similar to this, but wanted better protection. I am of the Shire of Vogleburg, Kingdom of Gleann Abhann. And you?

Trimaris, in south Florida.  Are you going to Gulf Wars?
Yes. This will be my first war! I can't wait to get killed! Cheesy
My SCA name is 'Sweet'. So...yeah. (At least I will respond to that moniker when called)

Okay, I had a geek moment, but this year's Gulf War will be my first war too! BTW nice job on the armour.

Wow. I had forgotten this post. Haha. Well, here is what the kit looks like now, years later...kinda (both of these pics are dated and the kit has improved even more since then). I have modified the armour to fit better too.

Here is another pic of some of my kit.
I made the seax on the belt, the shield, the phrygian cap, and the green tunic.
