I went to check out a new fabric store that opened up in Melbourne and came back with this gorgeous mocha/taupeish floral embroidered tulle not knowing at all what to do with it, then I found an old peter pan collar shirt that I picked up from Salvo's and it all just clicked and a couple hours later:

I just hacked off the sleeves from the shirt and hemmed the sleeve openings, then shortened the bodice to about half its original length and attached the gathered tulle as the skirt! I decided against sewing an underskirt/petticoat because I might experiment with different coloured slips  Wink

Haven't got a photo of me in it yet as I've yet to find a slip to wear underneath Tongue

xx

Your imagination must've been on FIRE for this!
I covet!  How totally fantastic.
I'm a fashion mag junkie, and love finding my own versions, occasionally feeling brave enough to make something...
I LOVE IT!

This is so great! I really love the choice of fabric for the bottom. I've been looking at this collection for forever and a half wanting to do something similar. Really great job!

Fabulous recon job!  I'm loving the texture of the skirt.

Where is the new fabric shop in Melb?  I'm in western vic and we don't have much choice here...  I like to be able to check out new places when I do get down to the big city!

Wow, this is amazing!!! It's so simple but looks really expensive! Those designs you just happen upon and they fall into place are the best!!
