This is the second dress I made. I found the fabric in a store, where it was hidden underneath all these other fabrics. Apparently it had been there awhile, since it was all gray and dusty, and when I asked them to roll it out for me, I found that it was actually pretty cute! I got it for MYR2.50/meter (that would be around 70 cents in USD).

I made it into this strapless dress with a pleated skirt.

And here's an action shot.

I used this tute to make the skirt. http://aidotcom.deviantart.com/art/Pleated-Skirt-Tutorial-87324333

The top I just sort of did a trial and error thing going. I tried to make a one piece bodice but I haven't yet figured out how to make darts. *sigh* Maybe soon. Cheesy

This is also the first time I've worked with a zipper, and that was pretty... painful. But, I'm glad I learned how. Cheesy This page helped me a lot. http://taeliac.deviantart.com/art/Tutorial-Centered-zippers-73536259

Nice dress Smiley

Which part of Malaysia are you from? RM2.50? The only fabric I can find that cheap is really stiff cotton!

Thank you! I'm from Sabah. Cheesy Most of the stuff in the cheap corner is pretty stiff, but sometimes when you rummage around you'll find pretty good treasure!

Thank you! When I showed it to my niece, she said "Hey, our table cloth is exactly that! Only green!" *laughs*
