I have been dabbling in crochet for about 4 years now.  However, I never finished anything until this fall!  Well once it was done, I had a lot more confidence and have since finished a handful more things.  The pattern came from the Happy Hooker book from the Stitch N Bitch series.

The ear flaps are functional, and can come down as needed.

That hat is awesome! I need to buy the stitch n bitch book... I keep meaning to, but I'm kind of cheap and I like to get my crochet patterns for free.  Embarrassed Hehe.

The first time I did it it came out WAY too big too, it turns out that somehow I wasn't counting right!  The second time (of which this was the result) I counted after every row.  I ended up ripping out about every other row at least once, but it came out the right size.  It's definitely worth trying again.
