My hubby and I had an 80's Party last year. It was so much fun. I was really impressed with the turnout. Everyone was dressed ... even though the all kicked and screamed about it.
Here's a picture of the invitation.

The invitation is hard to read.
It says...
Dude
Like.. Oh..My..God!
You are invited to this totally bitchin' party!
We are going back in time 20 years.
Holy sh*t...Has it been that long?
This is an 80's costume party.
So bust out your old Whitesnake T-Shirt,
a pair of ripped Levi 501s,
and throw on that leather fringe jacket!
Come dressed as Michael J Fox, Mr T, or Cyndi Lauper,
or just cut the collar off an oversized hot pink T-Shirt
and wrap a neon green belt around your waist.
Ladies..Don't forget the Aqua Net!
If your hair fits through the door with ease,
we'll know you didn't try hard enough.
Guys...Start growing out your mullets and rattails.
For inspiration, turn on TBS and check out rad movies like
Weird Science, Fast Times, 16 Candles, Say Anything, Valley Girl,
or any totally gnarly John Hughes movie!
So Fire up your IrocZ, and cruise on over to our own little Culture Club and Rock the Casbah!
Feel free to sucker your friends into coming.
No 80's party would be complete without a few bad-ass party crashers!
This party will be like totally tubular to the max!
Here are a few random party pics.

We ripped out pictures of celebrities from old 80's magazines and hung them from the ceiling. We had Atari games on the computer and a kareoke machine. All around the house were piles of PARTY FAVORS like, mini Rubics Cubes, Jelly Bracelets, and those neon Headband/Sunglasses. I bought the favors from
www.orientaltrading .com. I even made a life-size cardboard cut-out of Pres. Reagan. Have fun with it. There are a ton of ideas on the web too.
