I'm guessing all the features are machine embroidered or appliqued before you assembled the froint and back?
Did you need stabilizer on the underside?

Thanks all - my only pattern is what I sketch out onto a big piece of drawing paper.  Then I fold it in half before I cut it out so that both sides will be similar.  And yes - I zig zag stitch the face on first, then put them right sides together and stitch them up!  If anyone would like one of my pseudo patterns I could post a pic of one so you get the idea.  Thanks again for the cool comments!

If you have time I'd enjoy seeing one of your "pseudo patterns", and I wonder if you could give a few tips on how you did that cute bow on the monster topknot,,,

(and I appreciate the reminder about folding the pattern in half to get bilateral symmetry- Duh on me! I probably would've just eyeballed it and then been unsatisfied)
