Jean/Chenille Quilt

We had a ton of jeans around as I kept saying I was going to make a jean chenille quilt... I finished it about a month ago, but haven't shared anything in here, so I thought I would post it.  The seams don't match, but instead of stressing over that, I just went with it.  I really like and already it's gotten plenty of use!  It's only my second quilt - my first I did about 7-8 years ago and I tied it.  I've yet to really "quilt"...

Good job. As long as you're happy with it, thats all that matters. You might want to invest in some rag/chenille scissors, they work really great to cut thru those seam allowances and really let it fringe/chenille up when you wash it.

Thanks for the suggestion...  I saw them in the sewing area at Hobby Lobby but wasn't sure if it was worth the buy...

I really like this idea.  There are about 10 pairs of old worn out jeans in a box somewhere in my house.  Tried to make purses but that was a mess.  I have a demin skirt around my bed and I need a new duvet cover.  Never would have thought to make a quilt.

Great job and I think that having the seams up and frayed is a nice look.

I love this quilt! Between me & my husband, there's about a billion pairs of jeans that we don't wear in this house - I think I'm going to have to try this!

I doubted them as well, but it really is good to have the right tool sometimes... see how it chenilles vs. rags... tiny frills vs. large chunks

Awesome quilts!!!  I've been collecting jeans for about a month or so and I picked up a pattern for flying geese with denim.  I want to put flannel on the back but after seeing yours, I love chenille and they look so cozy!  Aargh, Decisions!!!
