besides being extremely hard to pour, do you think anything else would change if a smaller straw was used?

I used some smaller straws for small dpn's that were pretty much the same, maybe they could be too fragile, if it's too thin? I don't remember the casting being any different, I did break one though, but not knitting!

Dina, from what you said in your PM's I thought you were having a problem, they look great!!! Cheesy

HI ISewCute! Thank you! and thanks everyone else too!

well the only problem im having is that from time to time they tend to get a bit flexible. they are just my test pair but im going nuts because i dont know if its from the heat of my hands which would be a problem since i would be holding them for a while while knitting and all. ive tried adding more hardener and everything and nothing is working. idk what to dooo! but they stay hard for a little bit and have been ok so far. anyone else havin this issue?

how flexible are they? How old are they? I've had one lone needle that I told you about, I think it's 3 or 4 days old, normally if they flex when out of the mold it's hardened by the next morning, permanently. Weird.

I'm having flexibility issues as well, my first pair I made I mixed some silver into (and they look like rubbish) and with the leftovers I just made a quick charm , the charm came out hard as a rock and the needles are soft. I thought maybe it was because of the silver, so I made a second pair, didn't add a thing, and they are soft as well! Sad  I'm not sure if its the straws Im using (I stole some from a gas station fountain drink machine thingy and they are quite a bit smaller than Mc D's), and they were a pain to pour into, took about 20 minutes. Any ideas?

well they are enough that i can bend them, i mean mostly it was at its worst when i was sanding them so i thought that the heat from my hands and sanding was doing it but then the second pair i made is still flexible like three days later. and i fear that when using these to knit the heat from ur hands and the yarn will make them flexible again.

I have no idea, what kind of resin did you guys use? Not that that will tell me much, just wondering if it's different from me but the same resin/result as each other?
