Thanks for the spinning info, MLF!  Smiley  I'm still in the newbie phase of spinning myself.  I hadn't thought to try it with acrylic yarn to just get the  feel of it before.

And congrats Raynbow!  Smiley

Phizzy - I found more bacon stuff for you!
http://www.nytimes.com/slideshow/2009/01/28/dining/0128-BACON_index.html

I was flossing and a chunk of one of my teeth came out... GRRR... So I'm waiting for the dentist to call me back. So much for eating supper....

computer has been making me crazy. everytime I try to get to craftster I get a cannot display this page message. So I have to use my DH computer - which won't let me stay logged in.

One of those days I guess.

Since we're having tutorials. How about a beading one?

I am making this bag. http://cgi.ebay.com.au/Noni-NIGHT-GARDEN-FELTED-EVENING-BAG-to-Knit-No.108_W0QQitemZ270326266124QQcmdZViewItemQQimsxZ20090106?IMSfp=TL090106126001r18140

Sadly, she doesn't give very good instructions for the embellishment. It just says to bead the flower as shown. Theres a beaded bobble in the middle of the flower covered in beads. Is there a specific way to do this? Does it have a name I can google? I asked on the beading board but got no replies.

I was away for a few days because my brother proposed to his girlfriend of twelve years and we went to their engagement party.

sorry about your tooth, selkie!  Embarrassed I wonder if that will motivate me to get back into flossing, or dissuade me from it...

Congrats to your daughter, GG...If I were her, I'd want a goat as the ring-bearer.  Cheesy

Found a local fiber arts meetup group! Yay! I was supposed to go to their monthly gathering yesterday but I was just too tired. It will be good to watch people do this stuff in person, so it makes more sense when I'm reading it here.  Smiley

Hey Sansa,
Here's one for a beaded ball if that helps.
http://www.beadjewelrymaking.com/Kid_Art_Project/Kid_art_bead_project/january2007_bead_project.html
I think though that you'd want something more solid.  Short of sewing beads by hand onto a felted ball, maybe you could simply wrap a strand of beads around and around a wood bead to cover it.

Ack Selkie.  I hope your tooth is ok.  Something like that happened to my hubby and he ended up with a crown.  If you're not in pain then maybe it's ok.  His break ended a bit before the gumline.  I think it's more serious if it closer to that.

need some fiber, little girl???  pretty, pretty fiber .....
first one's free.....

You guys are creeping me out!  Cheesy

Yeah, what she said . . .  Cheesy

I had to work all damn day!  Usually I can sneak a craftster break while I'm running detention or after I've suspended some trouble maker or other, but today my boss was a slave driver and we had to finish this huge report we've been working on FOREVER!  I'm glad we have it done, but it takes a long time to read through a day's worth of STS discussion!  Cheesy

I am glad we got online spinning lessons.  All that oriface and bobbin talk made me realize I am really not ready for spinning -- I don't have time for classes and youtube is blocked at work . . .  of course, MLF will coach me online and I can go camping near her farm in the summer . . . NO!!!!!!!!!  You guys are EVIL!!!!!!!!  Cheesy

One more thing before I go do some sewing -- I bought a tabletop loom on Ebay two days ago.  It was an impulse buy and now I'm going to have another piece of crafting equipment I'll have to hide from DH.  ARGGGG!
