I did my first small cross stitch project last weekend and found a love for a new craft...talk about addicting!!

I'd like to join the bandwagon and work on this:
http://www.abcstitch.com/optioncart/image.php?id=9776&ret=http://www.abcstitch.com/subjects_php/subjects.php?page=2&all=yes&subject=angels?page=2&all=yes&subject=angels
I'm at work so I can't save the picture and post it, my appologies.

I bought it lastnight in hopes of getting it done by Christmas as a gift but something tells me it wont be done by then.

I finally went back to a pattern I started around 03ish and put aside.  It's Teresa Wentzler's The Guardian.

So far I added the red Ez Stitch Guideline (yeah I know, cheating...), stitched the two shades of light gold plus the purple blue blotch on the left side.  The middle with the darker shades of tan is the original part.

So I've made a bit of progress!

Looking to de-stash cross stitch magazines, particularly Cross Stitch Gold or New Stitches?  Please drop me a line!  I'd love to swap or buy some missing from my library!

I've never heard of that Ez Stitch Guideline, it looks reallly neato! Can't wait to see the finished piece, it'll be gorgeous.

Thanks!
The Guideline stuff is really cool- it looks sort of like 4lb or less fishing line but in bright red so you can grid out projects.  I can not believe how much easier it makes something big on evenweave.  As I stitch I don't go nuts recounting stuff four and five times doubting my counting abilities.  It's sort of a pain to install, but worth it in the long run.

Last night I started working on more off the purple-blue color in the background.  Now I have a blob of it on the right side of the dragon around the area where the castle will be stitched!  Yay for progress!

Coincollect, thanks very much for your comments.  Sorry Ive taken so long to respond Ive bearly been able to come online recently!  So far Ive begun to fill in the background I went for the greens which looks ok.  I'll try and get a photo done to show it.  I think I will try flowers in the hair (on your suggestion) but fill in all the other colours first.  Thanks for taking the time to reply.

Wow!  I love seeing the pieces you all are making from photos- they are insanely detailed and look great so far!

Thanks, coincollect408!  I slacked a bit last week/weekend after getting hit with some stomach bug, but I'm starting to knock some more out tonight!
