Aww, that's very cute! I'm a sucker for anything with cats in it. Smiley

Hi everyone !

I'm new here on Craftster, and I have a huge project in store: I want to create an Alphabet for a baby. It's my first time designing a pattern, and I chose a huge canvas: 15cm x 15 cm per letter. I may need some serious motivation to finish it... am I in the right place to keep motivated ?

PS: I'm French, so please excuse my bad English.

You're in the right place! I've never designed a pattern before, above and beyond finding an imagine online and making it a pattern, hehe. Post some pics when you get a chance, I'd love to see it.

The last time I posted on this thread was July 6, 2008, but the project I updated then is now completed, so I thought I would put it up here.

It had a lot of tricky techniques like blended needle work with pearl blending filament,
backstitching with gold blending filament, and beading.
The first two techniques are used on the wings, though it's hard to see how sparkly they are:

And here is a shot of some of the beading:

There are also red beads used in the vinework on the frame:

I'm not sure what I will be doing with it, so it isn't framed or anything.

Amazing! Great job, and congratulations on sticking with it through completion!

I'm living/working in Yosemite Nat'l Park til further notice! Blogging about it here. No swapping for me, and minimal crafting time, for the coming months. Almost done with library school! That sums things up for now.
