When I started laying out fabrics for this quilt, my husband made some comment that included the word "ugly".

Even he admits now he was wrong. So very, very wrong. The pattern is based on the stacked coins quilt from Last Minute Patchwork and Quilted Gifts. The fabrics came from just about everywhere- the remnant bin, other quilter's scraps, a vintage pillowcase. I've been saving up every orange fabric I could find for several months now.

Several blog posts about the whole process at http://trinasdoings.blogspot.com/2009/01/grand-unveiling.html

Whilst I can understand the comment from your husband (I am not a lover of orange), the completed quilt is absolutely stunning and I love it.

My hubby would probably say something similar  Wink. He doesn't have the "eye" to see what the finished project is going to look like. I don't ask his opinion anymore because it takes all the fun out of the project if he doesn't "get it".

Your quilt is stunning though. I like orange in my quilts, but not so much in the real world  Huh

I love the colors and I'm not even an orange person.  It is fun and bright and full of energy.  I wonder if it would make me want to climb out of bed in the morning...probably not.  It looks to snuggly.  I love it.

I think it's gorgeous, so bright and cheerful.  Glad your DH saw the error in his previous observations and that he didn't discourage you from completing the project.

I am so glad that you went ahead and did it even though he used the word "ugly" in the beginning stages.  I just bought Last Minute Patchwork and Quilted Gifts today and I cannot wait to make something from it!  The stacked coins quilt could be it!  Thank you for your inspiration!  Your quilt is gorgeous!!!  Grin
