i've been traveling for the past few weeks, and here are the fruits of two cross-atlantic flights and two train rides through the alps:

four socks!  and two of them match!  i love these so much i may have to keep them for me!

you can't really see it here, but this one has a cable running down the leg and along the side of the foot:

and one more:  a sock for mr. boot.  now i need to cast on for its mate!

i'm really pleased that my socks are getting more complicated and generally better looking!

stoliedina:   congrats on your awesome new job!!!!

Not actually this month's theme, but I made a doll for a friend's little girl.

Malgudi - Your doll is adorable. I love Stitched in Time, and Alicia Paulson's blog! And I should totally add a caveat to this month's theme, finished projects are also quite acceptable!!!

oneredboot - I love the variegated socks - so beautiful! And thank you so much for the congrats! I'm over the moon. My husband and I just signed on a new apartment today. Life is crazy awesome right now!!!

I *did* get some Christmas crafting done while I was on vacation - and both are new to me crafty techniques.

Tooled, leather, friendship bracelets for myself and my sister:

And a crafty failure at copper enameling (I call this the period stain necklace):

Turned into a crafty 'hell yeah' and salvaged with a little mod podge and washi paper:

Stoliedina, I chortled so loud at this that my 2-year-old left her cartoons, came over and said, "Mama, why are you laughing?"  The salvaged version is definitely a bit more appealing. Ha!

Haha, Christephi, that's one of those, "You'll understand when you are older" moments! LOL.

I forgot to post this yesterday...I made a set of cards with spaces to note the size, fiber, and care information for each pair of socks.  I'll fill them in and include one with each gift:

I'm also working on xmas cards, but i need to go find a box of brads...

So many great projects already this month!
