That is incredible!  That would make a wonderful art piece, forget the table runner!  Wink  The white of the border pieces make the flowered fabric really jump out of it.  They  look like little pieces of candy, or maybe jewels.  Beautiful job!

Awwww...thanks guys. It wasn't so much patience as too much TV/movie watching (my normal crafting time).

There are definitely some good online tutorials out there, though none that quite match exactly what I was taught. There's some flexibility in the technique...

So very pretty!!!  I was wondering how big your squares were before you put them together (if that is how you made this...I am just starting to figure it out and the video I saw of it you made squares.).  Glad your mom loved it!  Congrats on a beautiful job.

The base fabric (white background) were 7" squares before all the folding/sewing. Not sure on the patterns (they came precut), but I'd guess about 2" square (I can check at home tonight if you need exact measurements...plus it depends on the exact method you use.)
