mojo- i have no idea how i received the email so i don't know how the group was organized, but i know some of the people it was sent to and it seems like a good group of people.  i would email the person who coordinated it and ask some questions!

the email address that sent it is jparsons@gordonschool.org

and worst comes to worst, you check out the newly remodeled julians and maybe get a mimosa.

mm.  mimosa.

Oh I want a mimosa!

I emailed the organizer and asked to be added to her email list - they're meeting tomorrow (Wed.) but I have (tedious semi-useless) class. If they meet next week or the following week I'll go, because my class isn't meeting and I have 5 projects on needles.

today i discovered a knitting store in wayland square called "a stitch above" that teaches some workshops on how to knit for beginners, etc.  they also have fancy expensive yarns and handmade knitting needles.

I love the selection at A Stitch Above but the salespeople are not the friendliest.  They tend to be less than helpful with newbie questions.  For great yarn and nice people, I recommend LaceWing Yarns on Mineral Spring Ave. in North Providence or RA Yarns near the airport.

oo, i agree, i always feel like they think i'm going to steal something!  to be honest, i never have the patience to knit, i just think yarn is so damn pretty.  it's strange how i can make quilts, but not have the patience to knit...  are there any rhode island quilters on this thing besides me & teresa?  there isn't even a category for it...
