Holy moly, this is incredible!  Love it - the satisfying geometry, the colours, the whole thing!

OMG that is amazing!

I am going to get a pixie haircut tomorrow and I was planning to make a hat anyway. So I would love to make this one. There is one thing I don't understand though since I have never done entrelac. How do the foundation triangles connect to the bottom? Could you please explain? I don't understand it from the pattern......

Thank you so much!

You work on one triangle at a time.  I'm not sure that I can explain it on the internet.  There is one problem with the pattern.  It says on all the odd rows you P1- but really you need to purl all the way across.  Does that help a little?

I just finished the hat using the pattern link, and in case anyone is interested in knitting the hat....Do half as many rows as the pattern calls for.  Decreasing with each new enterlac row instead of what the pattern calls for.  Otherwise you end up with a ski cap style hat and not a Beret  Undecided  I will be pulling out my yarn and trying again after looking at the photo, and my hat!
