I've made a few of these so far. All the components are upcycled materials - junk jewelry from Goodwill, computer parts, watch parts, rhinestones from old craft projects... And everything has a coating of Diamond Glaze on it.

What do you think? Are they too "junky"? Comments (especially constructive criticism) appreciated!

I dont think they are too junky! I dont think there is such a thing, is there?  What a neat way to recycle and reuse stuff!!!  I bet it is fun collecting the things you use, too.  They look like little treasures to me!

I don't think they are too junky. They have an almost steampunk mixed with magpie feel to them. lol.

They totally fit with a crafty persona. I really like the colors they have this sort of bronze look to them. Smiley

Like Eilea says, I also thought they looked quite steampunk.  I don't think they look junky at all, I think they're wonderful.  The one with the watch face is my favourite.  They'd look great hanging from a long, antique bronze colour chain.

What's diamond glaze, by the way?

Awww, thanks for all the nice comments everyone! Smiley

What's diamond glaze, by the way?

Diamond glaze is an adhesive that also puts a clear glaze on stuff. It can kinda, somewhat give you a resin-like finish without the fumes, etc. Here's a link to the company's website.

Ah, thanks.  I did google it but it was coming up with some kind of floor varnish - I might have been using google UK though.  I'll have to try that stuff out.
