I made (painted) this vase for my mum for her birthday in April. She has had a pretty crappy year so I decided to put Lucky Ladybugs on them for her. They will hopefully bring her the luck she deserves. Anyhoo, just thought I would share it cause I'm pretty happy with the outcome. The colour is actually quite better in person, but the flash on the camera washes the colour out a bit, and I took the pics at night.

And here is a shot of the other side.

Have a lucky day Grin

What a sweet sentiment!  I may have to swipe that idea for Mother's Day, although in a different form, like a bowl.  I love ladybugs, though!

Absolutely adorable. I love ladybugs...

Ladybug, ladybug where do you hide
under a leaf on  its feathery side
safe from the lightening
safe from the rain
here I will stay till the sun shines again.

I hope the sun shines for your Mom soon...perhaps having a child like you is good sunshine!!

Sorry - for being so hokey.

Awww...thanks for the nice comments guys...I think she'll like it to.  And Mary Bell...that poem is so cute, I don't think I've heard that one. I think I'll use it on her birthday card somehow, cause I know the sun will shine for her again.

Thanks

In that case let me type it out accurately (I typed it from memory) and give you the credit...

Ladybird, Ladybird,
Where do you hide?

Under a leaf on its
feathery side;
safe from the lightening -
safe from the rain -
here I shall stay till
the sun shines again.

by Ivy O. Eastwick

I am glad you enjoyed the poem - I memorize weather poems with my daughter...
