Seriously...? All due respect to the President-Elect (and all other presidents), but... why is the post office closed on Inauguration Day? I get federal congressional offices and the supreme court... but the post office?

I didn't know about this either.  I guess I'm going on Wednesday then, but it is hard to get out of work on time sometimes.  I hope I make it (I'm taking off work on Tuesday to see the inauguration, Yay!!!)  I mean, the fed is still open (I work in banking and it is really really important to know when the fed is open).  hmmmm

I went check, and the post office web site wasn't helpful (the search function didn't work), but I found this: http://wiki.answers.com/Q/Is_the_post_office_closed_for_an_inauguration

According to this, it is open.

All I can see is that if you live in the Dc area, mail delivery will be limited. I could not find anything that the post office will be closed nationwide. I would take the chance that it will be open Tuesday.

I'm all done and it's packaged up and ready to go. If I find the  p.o. closed tomorrow, then it'll be Thursday before I send.
