I *heart* shipping online Smiley  I can just take all my finished packages to the PO and dump them.  I use online for eBay.

For this swap as all my items are lighter and small, it makes NO sense to spend $5 shipping Priority on my wallets with stuffin's  Undecided  Atsuko, your little pendants are SO light, I know they go first class....USPS.com does not have first class mail available online to do shipping so you will have to use the post office or at least the automated machine if going after hours at a PO that has one.  You can only do Priority or Express online for US or international mail...so for bigger packages would be the only way any of us would save the DC money Sad

Something I just found out with this swap- the automated postal machines won't allow you to ship first class with a DC number if your package is really light. All my packages were thick enough, but the machine didn't think they were heavy enough to be thick enough for DC. If that makes sense.  Huh It would let me ship priority with a DC number- at nearly $5 extra per package. I got in the teller line.  Smiley

I mailed my swap packages at the automated post office.  They weighed .6 ounces and I was able to get delivery confirmation and mail first class.

for a Federally regulated entity, USPS is super fickle. I have shipped packages first class through usps.com before and have had no problems. When I was in line at the post office the other day, I saw a guy shipping a bunch of flat envelopes with DCN's and I couldn't help but wonder WHY there are all these 'rules' if no two post offices ever do things the same.

Anyway. I got a postal scale for $2 at an estate sale of a dead doctor. I also got a bunch of sweet glass jars and vintage medical instruments  Roll Eyes It was a great investment and I'd say it's definitely worth the $30 or so that most stores sell them for!

oh, and I am about 1 hour away from being finishing up all my soaps...finally! Tongue

I heard some automated post offices let you ship international.  Mine has a selection option for it but won't allow me to ship international.  Also, the automated post office I used to use would never let me mail all small packages because the first item had to cost at least $5.

Well I would say I am at least 85% done crafting....I will be done in the next couple of days for sure.

We have some serious weather moving in to my area though....major winter storms from now until Wednesday.

Just wanted to check in with everyone...in case we lose power for a few days.
