From Bunkbed to Surf Shack!! Completely finished... pics on page 7!

We wanted my daughter to have a beach style room because she loves the beach and when we got my husband's old bunk beds we knew what we had to do!

Here's the ugly old bunk beds... please excuse the mess...

Then we added the sides...

Then we made the top bunk into a stable floor that she can walk on, and added a net "door" and a grass bedskirt...



And here it is all finished!  All we have left to do is build some solid stairs to replace the little temporary stairs in front of her door. 

This is a shot of the inside of the bed.  I made little bamboo curtain rods and tiny curtains for all of her windows and my husband actually knocked out the power to half the house when he installed the little porthole light.

And this is what the top of the bed looks like.  I think the little pink cloth parrot really adds to it!  Thanks for looking!  I hope you guys like it!

Man, if only I hadn't had a little brother and had to share the bunk beds with him. Given the option, I might have killed for something like that when I was a kid. Hell, I want one now.

Thanks for the wonderful comments guys!!  I think I actually might use the bed more than my daughter does!  When she and my husband are making too much noise I sneak in there and read books.  They almost never find me.
