I finally came up with a use for old phonebooks!  Wrapping Paper and bows!  Here I wrapped a cd in the phonebook paper (the white pages section with all the phone numbers of people).  Then I made a bow (from the coupon section because it was colorful) using a slightly altered version of a folded paper pinwheel.  Then I went through my felt scraps and found some scraps to add to the bow for a different texture and a pop of color.  My mom (the receiver of this fabulously wrapped gift) LOVED the idea!  What an awesome way to recycle!  Go me!  Yeah!   Grin

Hey, why not! We get so many phone books a year, it's like a constant source of wrapping paper.  Cheesy Good idea. I think the bow really makes it.

Awesome!  I suggested a challenge for using phone books and this was just the type of thing I was thinking of!

When looking at the entries for this challenge, I was looking for ideas that I could easily replicate. This is the one for me!

Thrifty- free phone books (I get at least 2 delivered a year from different places).

And...

Stylish- the amazing bow from the colored section and the addition of the colored felt really looks sharp against the black and white of the wrapping.

I also love how it isn't holiday specific!

Now, if I can figure out a decent way to connect pages together to make large sheets, I can use it for even more gifts! Or, I'll just have to give small-sized gifts Wink

For larger sheets I'm thinking overlapping a bit with doublesided tape but placing the pages in different directions to make it visually even more interesting.

That's what I was thinking, too. But, I hadn't thought to put the pages in different directions. It's a brilliant idea, because I won't have to obsess over making sure everything lines up if I try to put them in the same direction! I will have some delayed-by-an-ice-storm Christmas gifts to wrap up, and I think I'll be giving this a try. Thanks so much for such an awesome, yet simple, idea!
