Hmmmmm... I swore off swaps for a while (3 really bad experiences in a row) but this one might be just right to get back into.

Yeesh.  I had a bad personal swap experience and it made me very suspicious that a (perfectly lovely, very talented) partner in my first swap after was going to flake on me.  No fun.  Well, if you do decide to join I will do my best to make this a good one for you!

Hi everyone, I just wanted to introduce myself, I am more of a lurker here on the board, but this will be my first swap.  It seems appropriate since I love houses and I am working on a degree in Historic Preservation.  I am 30 and I live in Bakersfield, CA (dont make fun) and I live with my man who is a farmer.  I am kinda a jack of all trades, I substitute teach, volunteer with some museum and conservations projects, work on houses, and go to school.
I mainly sew but I dabble in a lot of other stuff.  We have three dogs (Roman, Lady, & Coco) and one kitten that we found a couple months ago (Kingston).  I guess thats all for now, I just wanted to say hi!

We've got some serious Talent in this swap!
<is nervous>
I hope I'm worthy.
I started messing around with some prototypes.  Mixed results.  Tongue  Some promising, though!  I cannot wait to get partners!

I've got some ideas that I want to try out in the next few days, just for fun.

I know, man...so many amazing Craftsters!  We'll all have to be on our best behaviors.   Tongue  Woops.  Off to a bad start.  (tee hee)

One spot left, people!  If you've pm'ed me as of 10:20 p.m. CST please check the front post and make sure that your name is on the list!  I don't think I've missed anyone, but it's good to be sure.  Also make sure that the swap is showing up on your profile.  If you see any problems just let me know.

I've been thinking about tiny lights!  I was just this weekend picking the boyfriend's brain about whether ALL leds have to be plugged in or if some are rechargeable...  I saw this amazing building-shaped light shade at my neighborhood coffee shop, will go take a picture soon if I can borrow the fella's camera.

After Halloween, Joann's was having a big sale on these little battery operated "tealights" that were sold to go inside your jack o'lantern so you didn't have to use a real candle.  They were like 49 cents each so I bought a bunch of them.  A couple of my tiny Christmas village houses can accomodate them.  These sort of "flicker" so the light is moving inside the house.  I said it was the light of the wee little fireplace, but one of the kids (the teenage boy, of course) said it looked like the house was on fire.  I think if they make non-flickering ones those would look really cool.

And speaking of houses, americangothic I love your avatar. Smiley
