Anybody have a quick bday gift idea for any of them?Huh I have polymer clay, sewing stuff, a scroll saw (that I haven't tried yet!), paint, and a buch of other little things I could use to make them stuff...what do you think???

Sawing things sounds like a blast, but you may want to avoid it in case it takes a lot longer than expected and then you end up all frustrated and trying to do everything last second (gee, think I have done that before?! heh).

If they are 'green' people, the reusable shopping bags people post on here seem like a fairly simple project that is usable/appreciated. Hard to suggest without knowing tastes, everyone is so different!

I am in the slow and steady camp, but my car is about to be fixed (and for only $350, sigh of relief...I was preparing myself for up to $600), and my mechanic is right next to several of my favorite thrift haunts, so I think I can grab what I need and get cracking.

By my calculations, you have $250 to spend on thifted goodies, right? Have fun!  Wink

that would be if I actually HAD the $600 to begin with...  no, I do have it, but I also just bought a new camera (what is it about cars...it's like they KNOW you just spent your little car-fixing nest egg on something besides them, and they are totally jealous so they knock out one of their axles to spite you).

I finally started my OTT last night for elociNNicole, and I think it is turning out rather cute.  I'll know better when it is fully assembled.

Although I'm usually in the slow & steady camp  Wink (see my avatar); I was inspired to craft quickly by my partner's list. I knew what I wanted to make the day after I got her list, and sent the OTT package off yesterday. I forgot  Undecided about the long weekend, I hope it gets there soonish.

I've heard it both ways.

I'm looking to swap some knit &/or crocheted crafts for handmade CP/HP soap.

Knitting goal for 2011: knit 500,000 stitches.  24,078/500,000 knit.  I think I'm going to need more yarn...

I still haven't started, but it's because I got started on another OTT project.  Can I show you guys?

That's Ruby, my new little smart car.  I picked her up this morning.

And for perspective on how tiny a thing she is, here's a picture of her in my driveway with my Dodge Dakota.

But tonight or tomorrow, I'm really getting started on my swap OTT, now that my real life OTT is taken care of.
